Additional Club Rules And Clarifications

1. If a shooter shoots targets out of order, count only the actual misses, regardless of whether it was the correct target. Example, if a pistol miss hits a rifle target downrange, it is scored as a miss, with no procedural. The wrong sequence, on the proper targets,  will cause a procedural penalty only.

2. Maximum number of procedurals per stage is one for stage direction (shooting sequence, vocals and movement) and one for EACH safety.

3. Setting a rifle or shotgun down, during the stage, with the action closed, is a 10 second safety procedural. *1

4. Setting a rifle or shotgun down, action open, during the stage, with a live or spent round left in it, is a 10 second safety procedural.*1

5. Leaving the unloading table with loaded guns for anywhere but the firing line is a 10 second safety penalty on that stage.

6. Pistol ammo must be between 650 fps and 1000 fps, rifle ammo must be between 650 fps and 1400 fps. Shot shells must be shot size 7 ½ or smaller.

7. Any practice or test firing must be done under the approval and guidance of your RO.

8. Range calls are "Stop Squib", shooters stops shooting that firearm immediately and hands it to a posse worker, then proceeds with the remainder of the stage. If it is determined that there was no squib, the shooter gets a re-shoot. "Down Range" means finish with your stage, go to a cease fire condition only after you are finished. "Cease Fire" means stop shooting immediately, go to a cease fire condition, you will get a re-shoot for that stage. During a cease fire condition, no one is to handle any firearm.

9. Reshoots will be given for prop failures, wrong calls by the RO and timer errors. Reshoots are not given for gun or ammo malfunctions. When given a reshoot, the shooter starts the re-shoot "clean" and does not carry over any misses from the first attempt.

10. SASS rules are many. It is the responsibility of each shooter to be familiar with the Official SASS Rules used by this club.

11. Loading more than the required number of rounds is a 10 second safety violation.

12. Empty long guns that slip/fall and does not sweep or break the 170 is a 10 second safety violation unless it is caused by a prop failure. Any falls, that break the 170, will cause a stage DQ.

13. Making it to the unloading table with a dead or live round in a rifle is a 10 second safety penalty. If it is a live round then there will also be a miss for the target that was not shot.

14. No hip shooting unless it is specifically written into the stage. Hip shooting of the pistols, rifles or shotgun will be a +10 second safety, per shot.

15. Making it to the unloading table, with a live round in a pistol is a miss, not a safety.

Stage DQ's

1. Shooting a prop on the firing line.

2. Holstering a pistol with a live round under the hammer.

3. No shooter can have two loaded handguns clear of the holsters at the same time unless they are shooting in the Gunfighter Category or it is written in the stage directions. A gun that has been shot out, is not considered a loaded gun.

4. Drawing a crossdraw handgun while in a seated position.

5. Breaking the 170 degree rule at anytime, including the use of cross draw holsters.

6. Discharges that hit between 5 and 10 feet of the firing line.

7. A dropped empty gun.

8. Not stopping on command of RO.

9. Spirit of the Game violation, 1st is 30 second penalty, second is a stage DQ.

10. Moving with a cocked gun or gun with a live round in the chamber.

11. Sweeping anyone with a unloaded (or shot out) gun.

*1 Shooter can go back and redraw or correct a violation as long as they have not cocked the next firearm in the stage sequence.

1. Any two stage DQ's.

2. A dropped loaded gun.
